review 1: Really liked this. Charles should feel something about what his father has been asking him to do for years, and while the resolution seemed a little simplistic to me, it was good and believable. I just wish these strong men wouldn't' keep hiding their feeling from their mates (Adam does that to Mercy in the Mercy Thompson series' too). Looking forward to reading more in this particular universe.
review 2: I feel like there may have been a few gaps in the story line this time, and perhaps a wee bit of predictability. (semi-spoiler alert) Oh no Anna gets captured by the bad guy and of course Charles manages to save her. There was also a lot of time that passed in between the last book and this one, which having already read the Mercy Thompson series to its cur... morerent fruition was easy to cope with the world changes, but had I not I would not be pleased with years in the character's lives flying by. All that said, I absolutely loved the plot twist at the very end of the book regarding the fae, and thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more from this series. less
