Kay Scarpetta
review 1: I really liked the early Kay Scarpetta books, but this one was only okay. It goes on too long and I found myself losing track of what was going on. I just finished this yesterday, and looking back from the distance of just one day, I find myself trying to remember why Kay was under investigation by the FBI - and how that got resolved. This book revolves around Kay's desire to understand why Jack Fielding has died, but I feel for anyone who hasn't read the other books, because this one fails to make us understand what it was about him that made her care, other than the fact they worked together.
review 2: This book scared me to death when I looked at the size of it ... actually, it was a pretty quick read. I have read all of Patricia Cornwall's Scarpetta book
... mores ... some better than others. I thought this one was pretty good ... like the first one's she wrote. If you are into forensic sciences this is the book for you. I would recommend it .. but you need to have read the earlier Scarpetta books to get the gist of the whole thing. less

This is the first book I've read by Cornwell. I'm disappointed, but I'll maybe try an earlier book.

Think I may have read before, but a good read, typical Scarpetta.
