review 1: This was so moving and uplifting at the same time. Rebecca and Gideon were childhood sweethearts, at the age of 17, he asked for her hand in marriage, she said no, because she was going blind and didn't want him to be burdened with her...he leaves the Amish to become a pilot and is shunned by the Amish...fast forward 10 years...Gideon is a pilot, co-owns his own company and he sees a story on television, they are having a fundraiser for Rebecca, who needs experimental surgery to regain her eyesight...so what does he do when he finds out the love of his life is blind? Read the story, you will love it!
review 2: First time I have read from this author. I am very happy with this author too!!! As I read the Christmas Quilt the words in the story I could tell what... more was going on I didn't know how it was going to end so had to keep reading. Rebecca Beachy & Gideon Troyer now these two I thought were very nice together. But somethings happened in their lives & they didn't see each other for many years. As you read the story you will learn that even though they lived far apart for many years, something brought them together at an auction. So then Gideon returned & returned for an important reason. He first saw his father & got on his knees & asked for forgiveness. His father did forgive him, but being he was gone for so long in the English world some Amish had doubts he would stay & join the church. I gave this 5 stars, my reason author used words I felt kept me interesting in reading as to find out what was gonna happen next. I look forward to reading more books this author has written. less
