review 1: This was probably my favorite Patrick Taylor book to date. Having been to Ireland, I have a lot of interest in the folk lore of the people there, and the faerie trees top the list. The first 100 pages of Irish Country Girl focus on the blackthorne tree and why one does not want to mess with the faeries who live there. Such strong belief in ancient lore is sometimes difficult for Americans to believe/understand, yet we'd been told a highway was once built around a faerie tree in Ireland because no one wanted to take the risk of bad luck for life.Love this series.

Have been enjoying this series, but all the mythology didn't really interest me.
