review 1: This was probably my favorite Patrick Taylor book to date. Having been to Ireland, I have a lot of interest in the folk lore of the people there, and the faerie trees top the list. The first 100 pages of Irish Country Girl focus on the blackthorne tree and why one does not want to mess with the faeries who live there. Such strong belief in ancient lore is sometimes difficult for Americans to believe/understand, yet we'd been told a highway was once built around a faerie tree in Ireland because no one wanted to take the risk of bad luck for life.Love this series.
review 2: As much as I love to read about Doctors O'Reilly and Laverty, learning of Maureen "Kinky" Kincaid's past and how she came to be fey was wonderful. As beloved as Kinky was before, she has beco... moreme even more likeable and understood. Patrick Taylor has the ability to to take me to a time and place I've never seen. If you enjoyed the first 3 in the Irish Country series, I'm sure you will enjoy this as well. less
