review 1: I continue to love this series with each new book. Dr. F.F. O'Reilly is finally going to marry Kitty O'Hallorhan, but not before helping several of the townspeople of Ballybucklebo including the familiar characters of Donnel Donnelly, Bertie Biship & Helen Hewitt. Housekeeper Kinky Kincade gets sick & put in the hospital before finally recoving & coming home. Barry still misses Patricia after thier breakup, but is getting to know local school teacher Sue Nolan. They differ in their political convictions which makes things difficult for them. Barry is also preparing to leave for specialist training in Obstetrics & is torn about leaving all that he has grown to love. Can't wait to see what's next!
review 2: SPOILERS. Typical ending for Patrick Taylor. I e
... morenjoyed the series while I was reading it, but I don't think I could sit for even one more. His cozy everything-fits-together-like-a-puzzle-piece endings and careless matchmaking for lonely characters to other characters that have barely been developed does get quite old, as does the let's-end-with-a-jubilant-party habit. I also skipped over the previous book in the series, A Dublin Student Doctor, as soon as I realized it was another 'blast from the past' and did not feel like I missed anything as I read this one. less

Another good one from P. Taylor. If the last chapter doesn't get to you, you've got no heart!
