review 1: I loved this book until the last 150 pages. The ending has been hinted at through the whole series, but I was hoping for more surprise. When "Lorre" emerged, I was very frustrated-- I didn't want him to die in the first place, but to have him saved by "Aurae" as if he was in a Disney movie (all of which I love dearly), and allow him to have a happy ending? Unnecessary. Almost no development of Liam throughout the series, why not just have him die? Duh. Granted, I always hate the end of a series. Still very worth my time & energy, loved the world Carr created.
review 2: When I find a really great series or trilogy I try to make it last as long as possible as its become increasingly hard to find a new book with a story that can measure up to the one you've just f
... moreinished. For most of the story its quite grim which considering the plot is appropriate but I couldn't help wanting a brief respite from the dangers for Errol and Adora. Other then that the tale was wholly satisfying even as awful as it was for quite a few of the characters that I liked died. Its amazing how much the characters changed from the first book to what they became, especially in the case of Errol and Rokha. Would definitely recommend the trilogy for fantasy fans. less
