review 1: I liked this more then I originally thought I was going to. I enjoyed reading more about Madame Xanadu, since I knew a little bit about her from reading Justice League Dark. I found the demons to be interesting, but there wasn't anyone that really stood out to me. I liked the Merlin and grail references and found it really interesting how it was integrated into the story in a new way. I will probably read vol. 2 if I stumble upon it at the library.
review 2: There is obviously a backstory with at least some of the characters here that I am missing jumping in at the point of the reboot but overall this is pretty close to what I'm looking for in a fantasy-themed story. The artwork was fantastic and while the story could have been crisper it was well-executed. The... more story gathers seven adventurers together in a small village and they must survive the onslaught of an invading horde. There is more to it than this, of course, and if you like fantasy and graphic novels, I recommend this. less
