review 1: Pretty much exactly what I thought earlier: medieval fantasy Megamind; the Dark Lord = Megamind, and the Hero = Titan.An interesting twist on the heroic journey, centered on the trials and adventures of a young, somewhat naive, yet determined Dark Lord Rising, contrasted by the psychotic, bloodthirsty, delusional Hero Rising, and the crude and crass Damsel in Peril. Also, a somewhat glib examination of economics and power in a medieval fantasy world, where the true power lies not in lords and kings, but in financiers, bankers, and merchant barons.A fun, light read, and an interesting inversion of the genre tropes.
review 2: Doveva essere un fantasy humor ma in realtà è una satira politica sul capitalismo, sulle bolle finanziare e sulla crisi economica... Ci s... moreono dei personaggi carini, delle situazioni "divertenti" ma ho fatto fatica leggerlo.. Carino il finale, ma non basta a salvare il libro.. Probabilmente io mi aspettavo un altra cosa, non so, tipo balle spaziali con star Wars solo in versione fantasy o per citare un libro "voglio la testa del principe azzurro"... In realtá il libro non è niente di tutto questo. less
