review 1: Story line has potential, BUT - get a proof reader, and an editor. The grammar was poor, book(s) were riddled with mistakes both in spelling and grammar. Writing, at times seemed to have gaps in the story, leaving unanswered questions for the reader to guess what happened and how the characters go the next action. Can't even imagine a war vet being that naïve or careless in some of the situations he found himself in.
review 2: This was one of the free ebooks I downloaded onto the kindle from Amazon, and have been slowly working through when on trips away where I don't want to take real books. I liked the premise: aliens invade earth and a group of ordinary people have to survive against the odds - so far, so Falling Skies... What let this down so badly was
... morethe writing, which was awful. Spelling and grammatical mistakes, completely unrealistic dialogue - American teens who refer to a person as a fellow, a friendly alien in the US using an Australianism like "No worries", brothers are reunited with the words "it's been so long since we parted"... People just don't talk like this! The story itself was OK: Logan, ex army, is about to marry Lucy, daughter of a billionaire, when alien planes appear and shoot up San Francisco. He and his brother escape and meet various characters along the way, most of whom get killed rather pointlessly, and they each set off on a different mission, Logan to rescue his fiancée from an evil Mexican gang lord (cliche much?) and Kenneth to let the U.S. Military know what's going on. They meet some friendly aliens - who all happen to be short human shaped - and blow various things up, and then it's the end of Season 1 (which is broken up into 6 episodes - the author cleared hoped someone would make a TV series of this - good luck with that...) and there is no chance of me reading Season 2, even if it were free: I made it to the end to find out what happened, but couldn't face more of the terrible adolescent prose. less

Good book... Would probably read Season 2... Kindle edition needs quite a bit of proofreading...

A little hard to believe jumps in the plot. Would you risk your life so easily?
