review 1: I have loved all of Paula Quinn's books and this new one is just as wonderfully done and will not disappoint. Her characters are always so well written, you feel like they are real. They make you laugh and cry right along with them. I also came to love two very loyal dogs in this story and a teasing bit which I'm hoping is her next book. My ancestors were MacGregors and after I spotted a couple of her MacGregor Clan books in the bookstore several years ago I just had to take them home with me. I was hooked. I am looking forward to all of Paula's future books. She has a forever fan in me.
review 2: Erm…. well, this is awkward… I have absolutely LOVED everything by this author previously but I just did not finish this one (at 58%). Maybe it's because I re... moread her prior books during a very strict Scottish Historical Romance diet, and I have expanded my horizons since then? However, I think this story line just didn't grab me because there was no traction in the H/h falling in love. They had a lot of challenges from the outside but I think I got bored because I didn't understand why they felt so strongly for each other so quickly. Maybe one day I will be bored enough to finish reading and then hopefully I can amend this review. less
