review 1: Tenía esperanzas en este libro, que me sorprendiera como en el anterior, pero no. Gragham ya dejó en claro que era un granuja, nunca lo negó, pero Cleire... cuando la describían como indomable, me esperaba que sea independiente, seria, pero me encontré con alguien terca hasta el punto de infantil e insufrible. Me cayó muy mal, me hubiera gustado que Gragham le bajaran los humos. Y en cuanto a él... cuando se dio cuenta de lo que sentía fue peor que una mujer, me gusta él, pero no puedo pasar de esa actitud que tuvo. En cuanto a Robert, bueno, que se quede ahí el santurrón, con la perfecta Anne :/ me esperaba más de él también. Aunque me entretuvo, los personajes dejaron mucho que desear.

Claire ini percaya kalau kakaknya--Connor, dikhianati dan dibunuh oleh Jendral Monck, yang juga menahan adek perempuannya--Anne. Nah, Claire ini seorang diri ingin balas dendam ke Jendral Monck serta membebaskan adeknya. Graham yang melihat keteguhan hati Claire sejak pandangan pertama sudah tertarik ingin memiliki Claire (khas Highlander banget ya?). Maka Graham dan Robert pun membantu Claire menghadapi Jenderal Monck, serta menyelidiki sebenarnya apa yang terjadi dengan Connor. Karena Graham dan Robert yakin Jenderal Monck ga bersalah, dan yang mengkhianati Connor adalah James Buchanan--teman masa kecil Connor dan Claire, sekaligus tunangannya Anne. Hm, entahlah. Saya kurang begitu suka dengan buku ini dibanding buku pertama. Mungkin karena ceritanya cliche. Tentang Graham yang rake to the bone jatuh cinta dengan Claire, gadis tomboy pinter main pedang yang susah untuk ditaklukkan. Interaksi mereka dalam beberapa scene bikin frustrasi, karena kekeraskepalaan Claire. Padahal Graham udah begitu charming, eh... Claire susah percaya. Memang Claire ini ga gampang memberikan kepercayaannya begitu saja, bahkan terkesan dibutakan dengan loyalitasnya meski fakta-fakta udah jelas di depan mata. Meski Claire itu tipe cewek tangguh, berpendirian kuat, loyal, mandiri dan ga gampang tunduk, saya kurang suka kekeraskepalaannya dan kekuranglogisan dia dalam berpikir. Sementara Graham, saya suka dengan kesabarannya berusaha menggaet Claire. Charming and sweet. less

What a lovely and enjoyable reading it has been!! Paula Quinn won me over once again with Graham and Claire's story! Two characters so different, yet so alike that together create an incredible pair. I admired Claire's courage and their loyalty to her family members and their country and King. She is a warrior lass full of ardor and willpower but faced with the most handsome, wicked and valiant Highlander couldn't avoid to succumb to the true love.Graham conquered my heart once again in this novel! He is wickedly sexy and adorably tender. I loved the way he surrendered to his love to Claire and accepted her for who she is, in fact, he loved her even more for her strenght and skillness in battle. He continued to be a loyal friend and I enjoyed his deep friendship with Robert Campbell.I also appreciated a lot the secondary lovestory between Robert and Claire's sister, Anne. He is a real knight!I'll continue to reading Paula's other novels because I'm sure she won't disappoint me! Moreover, I'm too curious to know about the children of the mist! ;-)For those who love reading about Highlanders and Scotland, I absolutely recommend to not miss her novels because through them you can feel she loves this country and its culture and story profoundly.

Stopped about 1/3 of the way though when I wasn't finding it interesting.
