review 1: Gigi Fitzgerald is a caterer that deals with lite entrees. They are for those trying to lose weight. She was delivering the lunches and followed one of her clients home. She witnessed the car go into a tree. The driver died. Her catering was blamed initially and she started to investigate to remove the shadow of guilt over her. For a premier of a series, it eas enjoyable. looking forward to book two.
review 2: What a cute book. New-to-me author Peg Cochran writes lightly and entertainingly. The story was plausible, and I was kept guessing until the very end. (I was close but didn't guess the right murderer.) The main characters are friendly and amusing, with just the right amount of curiosity. I was amazed at the tediousness of Gigi's job--starting ... moreher own gourmet diet food business. She no sooner finished cooking, packaging, and delivering breakfast to her clients than she had to start on lunch prep. What a tough job that would be to continue--absolutely no down time. I'd definitely be a client, though, all the recipes sounded delicious. (There are also a few recipes included in the back of the book.) It did disturb me a little that the cover art shows her dog with its paws on the prep table right next to the food. Disturbing, especially when she makes a point of keeping the kitchen clean when the policeman is there. I look forward to reading the next in the series. less
