review 1: This wasn't badly written in terms of grammar and sentence structure and all that. It was badly written in terms of realism even for a zombie story in my opinion. I have a feeling that the writer wanted to paint the heroin in terms a little bit too heroic and couldn't bare to make her have more natural and human feelings. In a short 51 page zombie story a year of time is skipped as well which seems a little aggressive to me. Why not just make the first part (which is this whole story) run out the full 51 pages and then skip the year between part one and part two? Probably because there doesn't seem to be a lot of detail. Just the 17 year old Rambo girl casually surviving alone in the wilderness and taking out hundreds of zombies with MacGuyver tricks and sniper rifles... more and hunting knives and everything else. Not willing to pay for sequels to this one . . .
review 2: I feel like the premise of this could have been better if this first book had been deeper, more fleshed out and longer. I quite enjoyed the beginning of the story but it glossed over so much, I didn't feel any emotions because I wasn't attached to the main character yet. It had potential but it didn't quite make it there. I wanted a deeper story, deeper characters and events to have more of a set up and lead up till they happened. less

3.5 stars. I liked it and would have bought the omnibus but it was pulled from her catalog.

Short story. Like walking dead with a different angle. Not bad.
