I haven’t read Charbonneau’s books in a while but I recently went to a book signing that she was at and hearing her talk about her book inspired me to finally finish this trilogy.
I’m so glad I did because it’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a good classic YA dystopian. That’s exactly what this was and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The series as a whole is really small so it’s easy to fly through these but despite the size the story was still well put together.
This was definitely the conclusion that this series needed and it was pretty enjoyable. I was expecting this to take the classic dystopian ending and cause me to hate the series but was surprised that I enjoyed the entirety of this read. My only complaint was that a couple of things seemed to be very convenient and felt like they were there as plot devices.
Plus there were the main characters who in previous books I thought may have been slightly underdeveloped but I thought finished off this series with the right amount of growth.
Overall I can’t say much about this book but it was definitely a classic YA dystopian and was a pretty enjoyable read.
