review 2: Let me start with that my copy of this book is part of set that was a limited addition called "Playing with Fire: Romantic Suspense Novels that Sparked Bestselling Series" which all the profits went towards RAINN: Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network- The nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. I bought the set because of the cause and before I had ever heard of any of these authors. I think that it is awesome that these ladies did this. So i learned a new word reading this book, Esclave..it is French and I love it..you will have to read the book or know French to know what it means. Finding the right words for how I feel for this book is hard. I loved the book but it is not for the feint of heart. Yes it is twisted and dark but the plot unravels into this story that will change the way you feel about it from the beginning. It is very well written and you will be oh wow did not see that coming.If you cannot handle books that will "go there" do not read. There are scenes that are disturbing. If you can handle then I recommend this book. There is more to this book than what you will read at the beginning..it unfolds slowly..in a good way. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series! less

I read the Monsters in the Dark Series when I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Beach, sun, great sex…and Pepper's books! Couldn't have been better! This series is categorized as a dark read and might not be for everyone but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are well written. Q and Tess are a dynamic couple and even when they are not naked the interaction between them is interesting enough to keep you hooked. One of the things I love about dark erotica reads is to see how far the writer will push the characters without losing the reader to ungraceful writing with only shock value as its foundation. I am happy to say that Pepper knows how to push boundaries without losing her readers. The Best: Q. I have a soft spot for the man. Buy it? Don't let the dark erotica label scare you away. Read all three. You'll walk away happy you did.

Wildfire

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really liked the story and thought it was believable, BUT..... I had a hard time with the way Tess feels about Q. I thought it was a little too "love at first sight" for someone in her situation. Q is mysterious, hot, and wild which gives him all the right alpha qualities, but I just thought their story wasn't quite as believable as it could have been.
