review 1: Well it turns out that if on 4th of July you set off fireworks in a zombie/ex overrun Hollywood SOMEONE is going to take notice. Who knew, right?! Right. Well it turns out that in a world of zombies/exs and superheroes there are...super soliders, thinking Capt. America? Yeah, only he's Capt. Freedom (not a codename folks, real name) and he's from Project Krypton. Not planet, a Project where there is a old creepy guy doing science the highest ranked military officer is a Sargent and there is Legion and eerie John Smith. Gorgon really is dead though. Zzzap is acting kind of talking to someone who we can't see weird though...so - hints?! In this one Stealth and St. George and Cerberus and Zzzap and new kid (former Seventeen and SS) the 'Driver' end up on the base and ...well.... more..things don't get off on the right foot and it dances around to being dirty and ugly by turns until it ends much like last novel a very us vs them feel...
review 2: Second book in the series and it's still rocking a 5 star review. This book continues the story of the group of super heroes and civilians fighting for their little piece of the world in Los Angeles. They have just recovered from their fight with Rodney Caseres aka Peasy and the 17's. They are out on a supply run when St. George spots a drone flying over the area. The drone was sent by the Army which still have an active base in Arizona. The Army base provides a whole new set of character and a whole new story line. My only issue (and it's minor) with this book is the ending. Even thought I was at 80% on my Kindle edition, the s(*t had just started to hit the fan. The ending seemed a little rushed but knowing that there is two more books in the series I was not concerned. Does the book have some issues? Sure. Does it still entertain the hell out of me? Absolutely!!Can't wait to get started on the third book. less

These books are fun reads. Not too heavy but a surprising amount of fun and character.

Some parts were a little more drawn on in this book, but I still enjoyed it very much!
