review 1: This book was okay. I found the writing really inconsistant and some of the language used wound make no sence to a child the was in middle school abd since this is a middle grade book its problematic. The plot was very linear and the charaters mostly flat, there was some development but it was sporadic and uncalled for. Overall it was an okay book and I am unsure if I wil continue on reading this series.
review 2: Action packed, smart kids and lots of crazy adventures. For me, this was more of a 2.5 stars, but my son who is in the target audience loved it and wanted to continue reading the series. I was so happy to see him reading something longer and more complex than a Goose Bumps book (I have nothing against that series, au contraire), that this bumped it u
... morep to a 4 star rating. As usual, the adults are not overly bright or particularly nice. Sometimes the action goes so fast that I was not even sure what I was reading. There are the usual characters; average boy turned hero, smart girl, funny side-kick boy and a muscle boy. However, the author gives them some original quirks and personalities, so again, 11-14 year olds will most likely enjoy. less
