review 2: This is not so much a novel as three essays detailing the lives of three powerful 15th Century women who all shape the history of Britain. Up until recently they have been very much in the shadows as the limelight tends to be male focused. It was a revelation for me to discover just how strong, ambitious and politically astute these three women were. The book has definitely given me a taste to read more about these women and the world they lived in. less
