review 1: this book is a simply wonderful amazing book and was a pleasure to read. I am reading the books of this series based on the historical order in which they should be and I have found that even more interesting on completion of this book. After knowing hardly anything about this time period before reading so far two books in the series it has become interesting and made me more excited to read this amazing series.Now to read the red queen and learn more about the puzzling character of Margaret Beaufort.
review 2: This is a series of books written from the viewpoint of different characters lives. It's historical fiction based around The Cousins War. Fascinating period in English history! I liked it but by the 4th book I'd read in the series it was feeling formul... moreaic so much so that I didn't finish the last one I'd bought. It's a shame because I started with book 5 (I think) The Kingmakers Daughter which was so fun and completely hooked me. I received it in a book gift exchange. Had I started at the beginnning with book 1 I wouldn't have made it to The Kingmakers Daughter which is my favourite, so there you go. less
