review 1: This is good old fashioned chick lit. It does try to be a little more than that, but ultimately a career/relationship/family crisis is run-of-the-mill for this genre. It is what it is, and it is some of the better chick lit I have read. Polly Williams knows what fans of this genre want and she gives it to them. I'd read a 'heavier' book just prior to this and it was a pleasant comedown, and a bit of a brain-holiday. And thats not a bad thing.Pack it into your beach bag, carry it on the bus, or sit down with a cuppa and a biscuit on a lazy Sunday afternoon and you'll be well pleased to have this book in your hands.

... morey gets points for being different from other books I've read. It's basically a story of a young woman trying to figure out what she wants in her career, in her love life, and dealing with her family. Her boyfriend quits his job and she has to deal with being the breadwinner, as well as dealing with a vicious boss. less
