review 1: Oof...this is a sad book. I thought some parts were a bit overdone - the second medical tragedy for instance. And the plot also felt almost unbelievable in some ways - couldn't everybody see that Elle would have wanted this baby? Maybe there really would be people that would have been on the other side, and it didn't raise an interesting ethical dilemma and make me think about how I would've reacted.
review 2: I flew through this book, partially because I'm an insomniac but mostly because I just had to keep reading. Perfectly captures the heaviness that is grief, the driving force that is hope, and the struggle when two sides of a difficult topic are pitted against each other such a tragic and unimaginable way. A great conversation piece as well as it centers a... moreround the "dying with dignity" debate. Great read. less
