review 1: After reading the previous six books it was pretty clear that this author couldn't bear to kill off her characters. When bodies started to hit the ground right and left it was blatantly obvious that Quinn was trying to pull a fast one. What makes it worse is that there is finally a truly heroic sacrifice that makes complete sense but it is ruined by the fact that a page later the other shoe drops about the rest and the explanation is even more frivolous than I expected.Like the others in the series, there are plot holes big enough to drive trucks through and several of the characters (but mostly Decebel) are maddeningly dumb, but overall this one was by far the strongest of the bunch; potentially four stars for me if it weren't for the bait-and-switch ending. As it stands ... moreI was pissed off enough that it was a struggle not to give it just one star.
review 2: What would you sacrifice for the ones you love? This story takes place in Romania 2011. In the last six books, the narrator usually talks about the three girls. In this book it's all about the Romanian Grey Wolf pack. When a new enemy comes into the story, everyone is seriously scared. Everyone will sacrifice something they love, and someone will make the ultimate sacrifice. Read the book to find out! This book was the death of me. I don't know what Quinn does, but, the books in the series, just keeps getting better. Quinn Loftis is always very descriptive with her work. When you read her books you'll never be confused. There is only one more book in this series, and I can't wait for when it comes out. I definitely recommend this series to the kids in the class. less
