review 1: In fact, it's more like 'have to read it' :)August Pick It For Me ChallengeDone! *pats shoulder* no DNF for me, nope. Honestly, yes this brought me out of my comfort zone for sure. I'm sorry that I couldn't do this book justice, but it was really not to my liking. The writing was good enough for me to finish, but otherwise it was rather eye-roll-worthy.1 star for the book, 1 star for Steven to pick something really out of my preferred reading genre.
review 2: It was confusing to say the least. There was a lot of internal monologue. A lot of remembrances and flashbacks and very little dialogue. The investigation of the beginning crime seemed superfluous. There was no literal relationship between the MC's until the end so it made the climax, anti-climatic. The... more single POV was this books death. I would have truly enjoyed experiencing Cal's personality. less
