review 1: This story really had a lot of potential that it, unfortunately, did not live up to. Vincent was an extremely well-written and believable character. I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder, so his reactions to social situations and his near constant, soul-crushing fear were relatable and believable. I couldn't really wrap my head around the character of Cory, though. His actions were disjointed, and some of the interactions between characters were written in such a lackadaisical fashion that the story became confusing. It was almost as if there were times when the characters were communicating things to each other that the reader wasn't privy to. Oh, and the abrupt ending was rather annoying. Vincent and Cory share their first kiss, and it mentions that Cory seems to like it ... morewhen Vincent surges forward to kiss him again annnnd....over. I turned the page and there was nothing else. What a letdown.
review 2: Another lovely story from R. Cooper dealing with those things that plague us but aren't readily apparent to others. Vincent suffers from social anxiety but he's notices his neighbor for some time. When Cory finally asks Vincent for a favor, it is with some serious trepidation that Vincent complies. He has always found Cory attractive, but he's avoided any real contact with him because of his anxieties. But Cory has other plans :) And there is pie! less
