review 1: Suffered a bit of mental whiplash from this book. After having just read a number of smart, female-centric stories, returning to the "guy dislikes girl on sight but they're obviously made for each other" trope was a bit of a shocker. Not that there's anything wrong with this standard storyline, but it was weird for me to get back into this rut. It's an enjoyable read, though at times it felt a little ... pat. The ending also seemed a bit rushed and ... convenient. I dislike when situations just "happen" that take decisions or actions out of the heroine's hands, so the conclusion to the stalker situation was a bit unbelievable.Still, I do like books where knitting is part of the story. And, sadly, more often than not knitting fiction revolves around mysteries. So I will be s... moreearching out the sequel for this book, and any others.I'll just have to brace myself for the jarring retreat to "romance."
review 2: The word "knitting" in the title is what attracted me to this book. My knitting appetite was quenched, which was why I gave the book 2 stars instead of only 1. The characters, Cade and Abigail, were lightly developed with this book really bordering heavily on the love/romance category. If you can stick with the book, there's a nice pattern for a man's sweater which I am fairly sure I won't try out, at the very end. less
