review 1: So, we are back to the Kincaids and this time it is Matt, who lost his wife a year ago and whose son is in the hospital and he may need to go back to a secret, that their son's surrogate was more than that she was the biological mother.When the heroine gets the call she is shocked but ready to come, even when she was carrying she knew her son was not hers and was getting a better life, soon she starts falling for the boy and even Matt but she thinks that he is still in love with Grace and their house is a shrine to her and also she doesn't want to get back to a life where her grandparents lived, one of wealth. She tried it and hated it and even got pregnant in rebellion as a teen and lost the baby and then she took up surrogacy to save her father's last memory for her moth... moreer.Matt doesn't love his wife but feels guilt, their marriage was long over and on the verge of divorce and he wants the heroine to stay but she is not willing to settle.I enjoyed the book.
review 2: Good book. Matthew was desperate to get the help his son needed, and Susannah was his best hope. No one in the family knew their secret, but he had to try. Susannah had no problem providing that help. What neither of them expected was the immediate attraction they felt. But Matthew was suffering from a huge amount of guilt over Grace's death, and didn't feel he deserved any happiness, especially considering the promises he had made to Grace. Susannah also had issues of her own with the wealthy people of Charleston. Her grandparents had made her mom's life miserable, and her exposure to that lifestyle had been unpleasant. There was a lot of soul searching needed before they were able to find their happy ending. less
