CHARACTER OF THE WEEK ♡ DECEMBER 29

Hello friends and happy Friday! I hope everyone’s having a good day and if it’s snowing wherever you are I hope you’re safe. It’s definitely been coming down here and it’s an experience, that’s for sure. Anyways, we’re in the last few days of December and also our last COTW of the year! Insanity! And I’m aware that there wasn’t a post for COTW last week and there’s a reason why I didn’t post anything last Friday, reasons I’d rather not get into, but I am sorry for skipping last week. I’ll be better in 2018. But I think I have a really good character to end the year off with. I met this character early in the year but they were one of my absolute favourites out of all the new characters I met this year. If I’m being honest, this person is really dumb and super ridiculous but it adds to their overall charm. I actually reread this character’s book last week and it reminded me how great the book and the character themselves are. I’ve talked about this book a few times before so you might be familiar with it.

This week’s character is…..

*drum roll*

Drew Evans!

WHO IS THIS CHARACTER?

If you don’t know who Drew Evans is, well I feel a bit sorry for you because you definitely need Drew Evans in your life. He is a character from Emma Chase’s novel Tangled and he’s a bit of a disaster. Sure, he’s a millionaire and successful businessman with a loving family and great friends and never has a problem getting a girl, but he’s a mess for sure. The height of his messiness occurs when he falls for Kate Brooks, a true angel and HBIC, and he potentially ruins the greatest thing to ever happen to him because he reads the situation wrong and tries to protect his own heart. I respect that he’s trying to protect his heart but Drew, honey, you need to listen before you make decisions. He also tends to attack others with his actions and words before getting the whole story in various situations so it’s a bit of a reoccurrence for this boy. He needs to work on his listening and interpreting skills. But he’s cute when he tries to make things right, which is always does, and would literally go to lengths to prove to Kate how much he loves her. He’s an idiot, but an idiot in love. Other than Kate, I’d say Drew is a really good friend to Steven and Matthew but honestly it’s his relationship with his niece Mackenzie where he truly shines. That kid adores him and he’d go to the ends of the world for her. His sister even created a swear jar for Drew when he’s around her and he’s definitely giving her some good funds that way. Drew has a lot of moments of stupidity but it’s hard to stay mad at him. He changes his ways and becomes…..not a better person because he’s still an idiot, but he’s trying his best. His POV is literally the funniest I’ve ever read and he has no problem pointing out his own stupidity to his audience. It’s always a fun and hilarious time with Drew and it’s why I love him so much.

FAVOURITE QUOTES
  • “Women fall in love quicker than men. Easier and more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? When it’s not us who ends it? We don’t get to walk away. We crawl.”
  • “I don’t go to church. Not anymore. I’m a lot of things, but a hypocrite really isn’t one of them. If you’re not going to play by the rules, you don’t show up for team meetings.”
  • And one day, I’m going to ask you to marry me. And you’re going to know it’s not because you’re pregnant, or because of some misguided attempt to keep you. You’re going to know I’m asking because nothing would make me prouder than to be able to say, ‘This is my wife, Kate.’ And when I do ask, you’re going to say yes.”
  • “Yes, I went to Catholic school. You’re surprised? You shouldn’t be. My profanity has a certain religious flavor that can only be learned through a lifetime of Catholic education.”
  • “I’m going to fight to prove to you that this is real. That I’m not going anywhere and that what I feel for you isn’t going to change. And then someday – maybe not any time soon, but one day – I’m going to tell you that you, Kate Brooks, are the love of my life, and you won’t have any doubt that it’s true.”
  • “So, if you think I’m arrogant? Selfish? Spoiled? You’re probably right. But don’t hold it against me. It’s not my fault. I am a product of how I was raised.”

Until next time,
