review 1: While this book was cute, it was also a bit annoying at parts. If you have a character quite convinced that they shouldn't do something, then if they later do it... They need to have a damned good reason. I didn't feel like either Faith or Ty were believable in that way, so the book just read like them making a long list of things they shouldn't do, then doing them with no real catalyst involved. Also, that was one crazy rushed ending and I felt no closure at all. I felt like too many things were suddenly happening and none of them made sense. So yea, didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as Sam's story.
review 2: I've read several of Gibson's books, including the Chinook's series, which have always been diverting if not shallow but again, entertaining. How
... moreever, the story of Faith Duffy--former stripper and Playmate turned gold digger now widow, suddenly gifted the Seattle Chinooks after her very old husband keels over and the NHL star stud Captain of her new team, Ty Savage, who's completely against the idea--isn't the most creative plot theme but Gibson has always had a way to brush aside the lack of depth with tongue-in-cheek dialogue, great sex scenes and tangible tension. Her books are meant to be thoughtless quickie reads by the pool, and I realize that. I do. I also realize that after a while, all authors get too comfortable, they find a niche and stop thinking about writing a good book and just think about publishing. I don't fault the process, or the authors for following a stock plot template and sort of working out of their own guidelines but I expect them to earn their paycheck with even the most minimal of effort. I don't think any paying reader or loyal follower is asking above and beyond.I read the Chinooks series out of order but each story stands alone well enough, so it was nice to see glimpses of other characters I've already read about. Thing is, I'm beginning to see the complaints of reviewers from other books, from ardent RG fans who've read every book: about how repetitive, tired and generic the plot lines and characters have gotten, especially if True Love and Other Disasters came out in 2009 and this plot has been regurgitated all the way to her latest Any Man of Mine (Avon Romance). The charm is gone and I was barely amused by Faith and Ty, who were flat and SO predictable. I was rather bored and waiting for something, that Gibson spark, and it never came. The conflict came a little too late and rushed, and for the most part, the book just stagnated. Also, I couldn't help notice, as others did, that it closely followed Susan Elizabeth Phillip's It Had To Be You, which came out in 1994. Gibson's attempt is far below standards. It was meh, eh, whatev and while I don't regret reading it or found it a waste of time, but honestly, you won't be missing anything if you skip this one. less

The ending was a little anticlimactic. Also, the mention of the Leafs? Hey! :P
