review 1: Slow torture is what this is!!!A train speeding to its near crash, without your will OR desire to look away, at its finest! This was brutal, painful, and so difficultly sick to read, yet, you struggle with yourself to stop the torture you're in, and failing to do so every time!!I think It's time I give up on the fight! It's hypnotic and Im way past the point of no return!Instead of giving you hope, each book STILL end with only darkness on the horizon.I'm going straight to the next one, with dread and fear.
review 2: Wow. This series is as torturous as it is enthralling. It's so so rife with turmoil and evil that it's hard to imagine a positive outcome from this point in the series. Too much has happened. Dougie is a very disturbing figure right now. While I kno
... morew he is a victim of masterful manipulation and brain washing and that his actions are bourne out of desperation and self-preservation, my sympathy for him is wearing thin. I'm beginning to think Mat would have been better off dead, and, perhaps Dougie as well. Both of them are in impossible situations. Which is worse, capitulating to a life of serving evil while letting your sanity slip away in order to survive OR maintaining your mind and morality while being all too aware of the horrors surrounding you...struggling with the the knowlegde that staying faithful to your morals and integrity only heightens the cruelty of your captors and unspeakable suffering for you and your loved ones? less
