review 1: I love a good supernatural book & this one was no exception. I really like the idea behind this. I have read about angels & demons before, but the concept of stars protecting people is very cool. I did spot some typos in the book, but they don't detract from the story. Stella did infuriate me a lot with her indecision when it comes to Seth & Tristan. I am hoping things turn out how I want later in the series. ;)Looking forward to the next book!
review 2: BlurbStella is a Star, sent by a Council of Elders to live on Earth and protect the planet from the Darkness, a terrifying evil that would suck the good from every living thing and leave the planet empty and desolate. She has until her twenty-fifth birthday before the Protectorship becomes hers and Earth is lef
... moret solely her responsibility.Stella’s fate goes on fast forward as she struggles to balance the rest of high school with the duties of protecting humanity from the deadliest kind of evil. With her parents and Seth, the boy intended to be her Counterpart, by her side she faces down demons and fallen angels in an effort to protect the last inhabited planet in the universe. But evil is not her only enemy. She also fights her future as she tries to decide if she’s willing to give up her human relationships, especially that of her best friend Tristan, in order to save humanity.Having read Rachel Higginson's Star-crossed series, i had high hopes for the Starbright series but they were not met with.Stella Day a strong, accepting but somewhat confused was a good main character. Seth her counterpart was portrayed well too. This book had a good plot but over three-fourth of the book resided on Stella's mixed feelings over Tristan and her not wanting a relationship so soon with Seth as they had yet to meet years later but due to circumstances met way earlier than expected. Many questions were not answered too and the attacks by the Darkness were haphazard, the motive behind the attacks wasn't stated clearly at all. There were no cliff-hangers or moments where you get adrenaline rushes and just can't wait to start the next chapter. I tried to like this book but i finished it just to end it.The concept of the Darkness destroying every other planet was genius though no other interesting story was delivered by the book except some minor ones and even those were very rare. It is sad to say but i will not be reading on in this series. less
