review 1: A great sci-fi read. While there were a few points I was disappointed in, over-all, this is a great read. The characters are well thought out, the action is bountiful, and the cool sci-fi gadgets and creative thinking abound (without overcomplicating it). I was a little disappointed that this installment wasn't written in first person the same as the Origins installment, but now having read it, I understand why it couldn't be done that way and still cover the scope it did. A great read, highly recommended for sci-fi/adventure fans.
review 2: I'm not sure if this was written before or after "Origins" since so much changed between the 2 books. I liked that we got to check in with virtually everyone from the first book and we advanced the story of technology and t... morehe abuses of the megacorporations. There was a lot of groundwork laid for future installments. Some seems clear where it is going, but I'm sure there will be plenty of twists along the way.This is a well-imagined future in space with multiple space travel options, a huge variety of technology, plenty of good guys, bad guys and shades of gray. I'm looking forward to "getting the band back together" and seeing our guys kick butt. less
