Crucial Questions
review 1: I can't rate this book because I don't feel like I was the intended audience for it.This book speaks about the elements of a prayer, answering questions such as "Why do we pray if God knows it all already?"; "what kind of mind set and attitude do we need when we pray?"; "What should we include in the prayer?" etc. This book is written for Christians and believers, so it goes into details of the duty of a prayer, which bridges the relationship between God and the believer. Further more, it breaks down parts of the prayer so the reader can understand what exactly should be included in there, and the reasons for the inclusion. The writing style of this book is very majestic which pose the impression a prayer should have. For those who are no-believers yet, this book will help ... moreyou grab a good grasp of the importance and ideas of a prayer. However, this book is also very strict on the definitions (ie, very black and white on who sinners are etc) which may be a bit of a turn off for some.
review 2: A CRITICAL READ FOR PRAYING CHRISTIANS This is the third of 17 books on the fundamentals of Christianity. INSPIRING READ! This book covers the fundamentals of prayer answering all the questions. Why should we pray? How should we pray? What can we pray for? Doesn't our omniscient God already know what I'm gonna ask for? What's the point? Sproul addresses how although we can't change God’s mind, we can change what happens. He provides several models of prayer from Jesus’ own through the A.C.T.S. of prayer. He explains how The Lord isn't a vending machine in the sky that will spit out answers to our demands, but a loving, caring Daddy who wants to provide for us. It's truly an amazing book guaranteed to reignite your prayer life. I especially liked the part where he mimicked James’ “Heroes of The Bible” list & created a “Prayer Champions of The Bible” list. You should look up each reference for the whole story! I VERY highly recommend this book & can hardly wait to read the next in the series - “Can I Know God’s Will?”! =^D less

If MC Hammer was right about one thing, it's this: "We got to pray just to make it today."

A wonderful, though short, look at prayer and what ought to be our mindset toward it.
