The director and two producers of this week’s remake of It are joining forces again to take on a new evil, or rather classic evil.
Director Andy Muschietti, his wife and producer Barbara Muschietti, and Roy Lee (center) will be joining forces on a new film entitled Dracul. The film serves as a prequel to the 1897 Gothic novel known of course as Dracula, and on top of that, the film has been approved by the estate of Dracula’s author, Bram Stoker.
As a matter of fact, the film’s screenplay is being co-written by Bram’s great-grand nephew Dacre Stoker, along with J.D. Barker. The film will revolve around 21-year old Bram as he meets an ungodly evil that he traps in an ancient tower while he writes the events that led him there, thus becoming the basis for the Gothic novel.
Paramount Pictures has scored the film rights to Dracul. Meanwhile, It comes to theaters this Friday and Andy Muschietti is also scheduled to direct a live-action adaptation of the Japanese anime turned U.S. hit series Robotech.
