For all my war movie enthusiasts, this is a must see film of bravery and passion that ultimately results in individual and cultural triumph. Not knowing the outcome of the true events that the story line follows, I was surprisingly entertained while learning about the mission following the 9/11 attacks. Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon are just two of the twelve compelling cast members, but together the twelve men are as the title states, strong. This more recently declassified tale is one that miraculously beat the odds in a foreign country with new allies and new traveling war tactics of horseback riding. I can say that I left the movie thoroughly impressed at the difficulty of victory achieved by these men, and seeing the movie made me feel proud that there are courageous people in the world who are willing to give up everything for the freedom and safety of their country.
For those of you who are skeptical about being disappointed or bored, that is very unlikely. This may not be my favorite war film, but I believe that it did the justice to the true events that occurred.
My popcorn movie rating for 12 Strong is 7/10
