2017 Reading Challenge

Hey everyone! DJ here again! As you can see on our page, we attempted doing our own reading challenge in 2016. And, well, it didn’t turn out the way we had hoped.

So, we are giving it another shot this year! I have actually switched over to listening to audio books for the year so far because I can listen while I drive or when I’m sitting at my desk at work. This allowed me quite a few hours to dedicate to literary works I might have never purchased in hard copy. I will comment on my experience listening to a book and how the narrator plays a key role in the story itself. I’m hoping to get back into actually reading rather than listening, but we will see the time I can make for that in my daily schedule.

As for J.J., he hasn’t really had anytime to read so far this year with work and then figuring out our move to California. But he is making efforts to get back into it. He has an easier time reading electronic books and will comment on that experience, as well.

I will be working on articles for the first six months of 2017 and writing about the books I’ve listened to, the thoughts I had, and the overall experience of audio books. Please be on the look out for those in the upcoming week. I decided this was a better way than writing about six months worth of reading in one post. That’s just too much in my opinion.

As of right now, I’m currently listening to the fifth book in the Outlander series, The Fiery Cross, by Diana Gabaldon. I’m also actually reading Catch Me by Lisa Gardner.

J.J. will restart the second book in the Shadowdance series, A Dance of Blades, by David Dalglish, as it’s been so long since he first started the book.

You will get the July update at the beginning of next month. For now, bear with me while I put together the last few months and enjoy those. Maybe one of them will sound interesting to you and you can start your own reading journey!
