2018 Resolution

I used #goalch because of Jess Conte’s favourite tagline last year.

Hi.

Today I’m going to post this embarrassing thing that I’d like to call as my 2018 resolutions or #goalch.

#goalch is a thing that Jess Conte, a famous LA-resident from Australia Youtuber, made up while she was dating her now-husband, Gabriel Conte.

I’m posting this up because I want you guys to be held accountable if I did not achieve my 2018 goal.

Let’s just cut to the chase.

I want to learn to cook a variety of food. Not just any food, I want to learn to cook at least 5 different dishes. Last year (still feels so weird typing this out), my parents bought a mini oven and they placed it at the cabinet in the kitchen. My mom and I were so excited that we bought lots of different ingredients to make different food. Most of the time my mom uses it to bake cookies, while I, the lazy daughter, cooked dinner in the oven (I marinated chicken thighs around 7 minutes and baked them in the oven for 20 minutes. Served it for my dad and my grandpa. They have no complains though!)

Anyway, I realized that this year is going to be my silver jubilee and I hadn’t know how to cook lots of things! I haven’t learn how to cook steamed fish, I haven’t learn how to cook mixed vegetables etc. There’s just so much to learn! That’s why I’m making a #goalch by setting myself a certain criteria for the dishes that I’ll be making (I wrote it down somewhere else, wouldn’t want to embarrass myself any further by posting it here).

I want to keep my hair long this year. If you grow up with me, you’d probably notice that I cannot keep my hair long. As long as it grows down up to my shoulder, I’d cut it. And last year alone, I’ve went to the saloon to cut my hair for at least 5 times.

Now, if you don’t know it yet, I’m a big advocate for the cancer society so I was very moved by Jared’s brave move (video link to Grim Film turns 6, Jared shaves his head) to cut his nine years length of hair to give his hair to Locks of Hope Association in Kajang. I was in awe, like really in awe (my vocabulary is limited nowadays). It has come to my attention that it would cost RM800 for someone who has cancer (or bald) to get themselves a wig. By giving away you freshly cut long hair, it would basically make the chemo patients’ lives better by donating your hair. You can go to their Facebook page to check them out.

So that got me thinking. I hate having my hair long, and there’s someone out there loves having the ability of growing hair and yet because of chemo sessions, they cannot simply afford an RM800 worth of wig. I did thought of going for Go Bald For Cancer hosted by Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, but I didn’t have the guts to go because I’m scared that my head will look weird with super short stubs.

So I was blessed enough to watch Jared’s video before 2018, then I can easily make my 2018 resolution which is not to cut my hair!

Let’s just hope it’ll last until the end of the year.

Live a better and healthier lifestyle by cutting down my consumptions of carbonated drinks and rice.

Look, I am an avid fan of Coca Cola. I’m Asian and I love my rice. It’s my MVP but for the sake of my health and better lifestyle, I’m willing to do it. I was weirdly inspired by a friend of mine whom confesses to me last November that it has been a year that she last drank her fair share of carbonated drink.

I was like “Haa. Maybe I should try this too.”

About rice, I’m giving it 3 months tops. Let’s just see how it goes of less consumption of rice hahah

To be able to find time to read.

Surprisingly last year I read about 3 books and I still haven’t finish reading The Lord of The Rings! I really need to step up my reading game. I actually looked out for some good books mentioned by the @bookendsMY in Twitter and I’ve added some to my next reading list. I still have plenty more to read in the shelf, though.

I really need to sort out my priorities.

This year I want to sharpen my skills in the creativity field. That was the reason why I created this blog at the first place. I wanted to upgrade my communication skills as well as my designing skill. I have a video of this resolution thing up in my laptop’s folder but I haven’t edit it yet. Cons of having an old laptop is that you’d frustrate yourself by rendering videos.

I really need to get a new laptop.

This frustrates me too much.

….

That’s all from me. Make sure to follow up on my Sunday Post at 9 am! I’ll be posting things about how I cope with my social anxiety and what not.

Talk to you soon.
