8 Minute Potato Chips

So the other day I was desperately craving some potato chips. My options were; go to the store and hope to god there was no sale that would inevitably end with me buying an abundance of bags and shame, try to make some myself, phone a friend to bring me a bag of chips (the ultimate laze…), or just try to ignore the treacherous craving.

I decided that since I had some ingredients (ie. potatoes), why not try and make them myself! It is supposed to be healthier and who knows, maybe I would unlock a hidden talent that could lead to me starting my own potato chip company. But probably not…

I searched and searched online to find the quickest and easiest recipe (as I am no Michelin starred chef). Alas, I came across a Tasty video! You know Tasty right? It’s that facebook page that fills up your feed with delicious looking food videos all day long.

Essentially turning all facebook users into a pack of Pavlov’s dogs, salivating on our keyboards with each video… however that is off topic.

Tasty posted a video with microwave potato chips. YES!

Basically all you have to do is slice up a potato as thinly as possible. Try to make them the same size or use a mandolin if you have one handy.

Rinse the slices in a bowl until the water runs clear, removing some of the starch.

Next, oil the plate so the chips do not stick and add a tiny amount of oil on top of each chip. I used olive oil and would recommend you do too
