Some days just need a little sunshine. Since I moved to the Pacific Northwest last summer I’ve learned that you can’t take the sun for granted the way that I did in Arizona! So while this card doesn’t reflect the current weather where I’m at (overcast and pouring rain at the moment), it does reflect my sunny disposition today since it’s Friday and I have a three-day weekend of stamping ahead!
You can make this card, too! I was in the mood to play with a markering technique that I fell in love with upon one of my very first times stamping. You take two or more colors and dot them along different areas of your sentiment (or image if you prefer) to get a two-tone look. In this case I used Calypso Coral, then blotted some Peekaboo Peach onto the “It’s Your Day!” sentiment and stamped it. Since I already had my markers out, I added color to two clear blocks and used my Aqua Painters to pick up and blend those colors for the various shades on the butterfly. The same could have been done with the inside lid of my ink pads, but this way I didn’t have to get them out.
