A Christmas Flashback

It’s hard for me to really PIN POINT the memory that went with this picture, but I SO freakin’ wish I knew what was going through my mind when taken. If you know my brother, and if you know me, this picture pretty accurately describes how we were as kids.

But more than that, I think this picture represents how we both feel come Christmas morning… still to this day. Christmas morning was always fun in our house. Mine and my brothers rooms have ALWAYS been across the hall from each other, so when one of us would wake up (normally around 7:00 AM), we’d run into the others before going downstairs (or out into the living room). Just knowing I could cherish those few moments with my brother each year were the best.

After waking mom and dad up — now that I understand Santa isn’t real, I want to extend my apologies to my parents for the lack of sleep they got that night — we’d grab a quick breakfast snack, turn on Statler brothers and sort the gifts! After the opening of gifts, normally toy time (later on nap time) before we headed to my grandparents house!

Some may ask… why this picture? Why not a family picture? Why not a recent picture? Well because a lot of my favorite memories (especially holiday) were when I got to spend them with my brother. We went through our good amount of fights, disagreements, but at the end of the day I’ve always considered my brother one of my biggest role models and closest friends. He’s always been there for me, even times when I didn’t want him to be. That’s the way a big brother should be right?
