While it might not seem like it from the exactingly precise soul vocals or the gracefully executed synth wobbles and percussive strikes, Adrian Daniel’s “Deadly Attraction” is a song of reckless abandon. This is an R&B torch song where Daniel is well aware that who and what he’s heading toward has every possibility to bring him ruin. When he sings “I’d tear out my heart for you” underneath smeared AutoTune, you can tell he almost expects something to go wrong. And still he doesn’t seem to care. He croons justifications about no one being perfect and rattles off a litany of positive attributes. Daniel is falling and not the least bit concerned about bracing for impact.
