An Apology

Every reader is a critic, and I am, as the cliché goes, my worst critic. This is an experiment. I have never been a confident writer because I feel like I am doing it wrong. I feel like every time I try to write I have broken some rule, or forgotten how to use commas ( this causes me to overuse commas when I should be using some other form of punctuation like the dreaded semicolon), and for this I am sorry. I also apologize for being sorry because I know that it is the paradoxical nature of any creative medium, whether it be writing or fine art to break rules that have been set forth. So, even though this blog is meant to be an outlet for my silly fantastical stories, you may find some random shit here.

You may find an incoherent rant about that horrible Mummy movie with Tom Cruise because it came out on DVD I was forced to watch it on Amazon video. You may find me writing reviews about nonfiction books I have been reading to educate myself. They are dry as hell, but some of them are actually useful. There may be reviews about fiction books because I need to remind myself to read those sometimes. I may just write about writing because I graduated from a public high school, and I know that part of my frustration with writing comes directly from teachers who taught the format of a five paragraph essay instead of how to write an essay. I may write about comic books, manga and anime because I love them and they gave me the confidence to be creative. This could lead me to write about the art you see in museums and the art you don’t. I could write about my quest for the perfect brioche. You may find that at some point this just becomes a pop culture blog because I consume a lot of that too. And it may get political, because the revolution is disorganized and our government is a veritable cluster-fuck.

But I promise I will try to organize my thoughts and post consistently. It won’t be overly formal or anything.

And now something that I should be deathly afraid of, but am not because it is kind of cute: a Peacock Spider
