Summary:

Review:
Anomalies is a unique sci-fi book set in a future version of what used to be the United States. I really enjoyed the story and felt that it kept me engaged throughout the whole thing, which is sometimes tough when I am listening to audiobooks.
For a science fiction book, the world was very easy to get into compared to some other worlds which are so complex and nuanced. Everything about this book kept my attention and my ears open to hear what would happen next.
I was very intrigued by the whole imprinting process that occurs in the book. Everyone has a perfect match out in the world, and they meet once when they are 5 years old, and then again when they are 15. When they meet for the second time, a physical connection is made between the pair. It reminded me of imprinting from Twilight, but it was completely different at the same time.
Seeing the main character Keeva grow and learn things about the world that she thought she knew was great. She is a strong character, and she does not want to lose who she knows herself to be.
As far as the actual audiobook itself, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the narrator’s voice. It felt a bit mechanical and robotic to me, and at times I was wondering if I had heard something correctly due to the accent. Despite this, it did not affect my enjoyment of the book.
