Book Review: Burgess, Gemma – The Dating Detox

The Dating Detox

After being dumped for the sixth, successive, time Sass has had enough of the drama and with the aid of best friend Bloomie draws up a contract to commit for 3 months to a dating detox. She hasn’t really been attracted to anyone in years so it shouldn’t present a problem…

Working as a copywriter for an advertising agency and taking the lead on a new project Sass now has a chance to shine and without the distraction of dating she’s free to focus on her work and take up new activities. She even has time to catch up with her parents! Men, love and dating drop off her radar and Sass is relishing being back in control of her life, so much so that she may just stick to it. If only she could stop crossing paths with the gorgeous and funny Jake who is providing serious temptation. Can Sass really stick to her dating detox?

This is proper, sassy, romance with a protagonist who loves her friends, fashion, drinking and 1980s rom-coms, but who also has real doubts about herself. There’s great chemistry with Jake and the parties are as fun to read as they would be to attend. This book was just pure fun.
