MY REVIEW:
3 of 5 stars to Wired by Julie Garwood ★★★
It’s been so long since I last read a Julie Garwood novel, the last one being an installment of the same series, so I was really excited to start this one. I wasn’t really disappointed after reading “Wired” but I also wasn’t enthusiastic about it.
It felt like the book was rushed and there was no passion behind it’s creation. I miss my old Garwood novels who come alive with every page. For me, Wired lack the action and the suspenseful elements to make the experience thrilling; and lacked the sizzling romance to make it worthwhile. I wasn’t even convinced in Liam and Allison’s love for each other although I enjoyed all their moments together. Allison seemed like a really interesting heroine. I like the idea of a computer geek who moonlights as a supermodel, too bad her story wasn’t so exciting.
Over-all, this book seemed uninspired, like Garwood has exhausted all ideas for the series and this installment suffered because she just came up with tropes and cliches one after another. Having said so, I still mildly liked this otherwise unimaginative novel.
