Christmas Day We went to my Nana’s house at about 11.30 to help her set up & get everything ready while we waited for my mum to finish work at 1pm which felt like it took forever haha. Does anyone else feel like a kid again when Christmas comes around? Once mum arrived, we were finally able to open presents which is one of my favourite parts of the day, I love seeing the reactions on my families faces when they each get their presents either from me or someone else in the family & of course I love opening presents for myself (who doesn’t) This year I got some amazing presents so I will list them below with who I received them from Mum – My mum got this sparkly silver ring from Pandora, a pair of sketchers for work (as I previously stole hers of her because they are so comfy whoops) & she also very generously gave me $300 to go towards my boxing day shopping Nana & Uncle – My nan & my uncle gave me a joint gift of $120 dollars to go towards my boxing day shopping (they find it easier to just do this instead of buying me & my sister things now that we are older) My Sister – So because its just us two my sister Taylor & I also go a little crazy on each other each year so this year Taylor gave me, Too Faced Best of 2018 kit (amazing!!). lush bath bombs, a Pandora ring, $50 mecca voucher & she also got us both tickets to go see one of our fav football players who is doing a few shows about his life etc which I cannot wait for.
My Partner – My partner got me $50 mecca voucher, $50 Pandora voucher, $100 Priceline voucher, some body butters & lush bath bombs
Do I have the best family or what?
After presents because we were all starving we got lunch all set up as by this stage it was almost 2pm.
Our family is very into seafood & cold meats for Christmas lunch but since my partner has come along & his Christmas traditions from him growing up was roast pork & hot food we have also incorporated that to our Christmas lunch.
So here is a photo of what was on offer, Roast Pork, Roast potatoes & roast pumpkin, ham, chicken, prawns, potato salad, Greek salad, my mums odd rice salad, spinach cob, bread rolls & crunchy Asian salad so for only 6 people there was a lot of food (YUM)
All the food was amazing I had a food coma for most of the afternoon, we then played Cards against Humanity & my nan who had never played before kept getting all the inappropriate cards which made is so much fun to play.
After a few games of that, we then decided to have some dessert & watch the movie IT which I was not looking forward to as I am the only one in my family who hates horror movies with a passion.
Unfortunately as the bad blogger that I am, I forgot to take a photo of the desserts before we all dove into them but there was a bread & butter pudding that I made, my sister made this chocolate clinkers slice, a pavlova, plum pudding & fresh fruit with cream.
Which all looked & tasted amazing.
After we finished IT & I had screamed the house down about 30 times during the movie (no word of a lie) it was about 7.30pm & my partner & I decided we better head home as I had to be up early the next day to go shopping with my sister as we live about an hour away from my mum & my nan.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, what did you get for Christmas?
Until next time,
Mariah – Everything Missguided
