On our recent California jaunt, we had the pleasure of spending the day at the Coral Casino Beach Club in Santa Barbara. I don’t think I have ever met a beach club that I didn’t like, but this one, situated right on Butterfly Beach, was pretty darn fab.
The club, built in 1937, was designed as a playground for Hollywood stars and local socialites to hang. It is a designated historical landmark, with its most celebrated feature being a larger-than-Olympic size swimming pool.
It is combines old world glamour with modern amenities, yet still has the family feel that traditional beach club culture embraces. There is also a stunning ballroom. Here we are doing what we do best in said ballroom.
During our visit, we hung at the pool in our best east coast summer gear (don’t miss the espresso martini stain on Loomis’s cover up). We are both moving a little slowly thanks to the glorious evening pictured above.
But, after being there in person, I think we both could have taken it up a notch as far as our poolside attire. So, here is my style guide, inspired by our time at the Coral Casino…which, in my book, was not long enough!
