Today’s post is.. you guessed it: my monthly post of books I’m Looking Forward to! I’ve been doing these for a while now. Basically what these posts are, is just me talking about the books that I’m looking forward to reading that are being published in the following month that I’ve posted them in. I’m posting this in November, so the books featured in this post will all be books that will be published in December.
There’s only 3 books that I’m looking forward to in December!
December 1st- If the Fates Allow, by Pene Henson, Erin Finnegan, Lynn Charles, Killian B. Brewer, Lilah Suzanne —- LGBTQIA, Romance

Shay Allen returns to her hometown in Montana for the holidays with her best friend Devon with the intent to return home to L.A. by New Year’s Eve. Instead, the weather traps them in the small town, but the there’s a bright spot: her old crush Milla is still in town.Halfway Home
By Lilah Suzanne
Avery Puckett has begun to wonder if her life has become joyless. One night, fate intervenes in the form of a scraggly dog shivering and alone in a parking lot. Avery takes him to a nearby shelter called Halfway Home where she meets bright and beautiful Grace, who is determined to save the world one stray at a time.
If the Fates Allow sounds like an incredibly interesting anthology holiday short story novel. There’s 5 different stories; one for each author. The stories feature: a second chance, a promised future, an unexpected romance, a rekindled love, or a healed heart. Maybe I can curl up with this book infront of my Shaw TV Fire Log when it is released.
- Plague Land (ReMade, #1) by Alex Scarrow — Young Adult, Science Fiction/Aliens, Speculative Fiction
Leon and his younger sister Grace have just moved to London from New York when news of an unidentified plague begins to fill the news.
Within a week the virus hits London. People in the streets turn to liquid before their eyes, and what follows is a frantic hunt for a safety which may no longer exist.
Plague Land sounds fairly interesting. I wonder how the siblings’ lives will turn out? There’s a lot of intrigue, since there’s not really a “full” synopsis, but I’m interested in seeing a Sci-Fi novel take place in the UK! I normally only see them take place in either the USA, maybe one or two that take place in Canada, or a fictional place.
- Rules of Rain by Leah Scheier — Contemporary, Young Adult, Fiction
A dramatic new novel about the bond between a teen and her twin brother.
Rain has taken care of Ethan all of her life. Before she even knew what autism meant, she’s been her twin brother’s connection to the hostile world around him. She’s always prepared—when her father abandons them, when her mother gets sick, when Ethan is tortured by bullies from school—Rain is the reliable, stable one holding them all together. She’s both cautious carer and mad chef, preparing customized meals for her family and posting crazy recipes on her cooking blog.
Each day with Ethan is unvarying and predictable, and she’s sure that nothing will ever change—until one night when her world is turned upside down by a mistake she can’t take back. As her new romance with her long-time crush and her carefully constructed life begins to unravel, she discovers that the fragile brother whom she’s always protected has grown into a young man who no longer needs her. And now, for the first time, she finds that she needs him.
Rules of Rain sounds particularly interesting since the main character, Rain, takes care of her autistic brother, while hoping that her longtime crush Liam, will notice her. Then one day she makes a mistake and I need to know what that mistake is! I especially want to know how Rules of Rain turns out. I’m pretty interested in seeing how Rain asks for help, and what role Ethan (Rains brother) will play in this story.
Are you looking forward to any publishings this December?
Happy Reading!
