review 1: I have never read any books having to do with law or the judicial process. This book took a bit to get started, but once I was halfway through I was hooked. Sometimes you read a book and you think to yourself, this book flows really well and the author can actually write! Definitely recommend reading this book, the mystery around a deposit slip to a bank for over ten million dollars and the layers of intrigue and deceit in a small town.
review 2: If you love a good legal mystery, courtroom drama, and the kind of background and drama that made Grisham famous, you'll find this one too good to put down. The premise is not new -- the young lawyer striking out on his own, underfunded and understaffed, taking on the established 'big firm' with a case he shouldn't be ... moreable to win, has been done by the big names. What makes it work again here is the interesting twists and excellent character development. A great read! less
