review 1: Am I the only one who hated this book? The main characters were boring, egotistical, and not very likable (yes they changed over time but I still didn't like them). Throw that in with some bad Greek mythology and you get this book. I've read a lot of Greek mythology and haven't come across anything like this before. I thought the authors were sloppy and should have done more research before taking on something as big as Greek mythology. All I can say is that I found this book to be atrocious.

... morehar to become special-assignment Sirens. Finding the delicate balance between their old and new responsibilities turns out to be harder than they expected, especially when an entire pantheon of Greek deities decides to get involved.Review: Gone are the days of Twilight and Gossip Girl, here comes Sirenz day to reign! This book was the perfect summer read for me, but truthfully I would have loved had I read it in the dead of winter. There is just something purely magical about the elements that make up this novel. At first glance, I thought this book was going to be kind of superficial all about popular girls whose perfect lives are ruined. BOY WAS I WRONG!! I am truly thankful I was given the opportunity to read Sirenz, because I was able to immerse myself in a new world. While I tended to relate more to Meg, Shar was also a character that I loved getting to know. Meg exudes intelligence and has an eye for all things vintage, and subtle glam. While Shar likes designer labels and high fashion. That isn’t to say she is superficial, there are more to these two girls than meets the eye. This book plays off of the Persephone and Hades myth, but twists it into a whole new magical story. There was never a dull moment. I loved the mentions of shoes, because I adore shoes. I mean what girl doesn’t? Then add a splash of humor, that had me laughing out loud and my family staring at me like I was a lunatic. And you have the makings of something truly brilliant. I am so excited to read book two! less
