review 1: I enjoy listening to the Dear America series and this one is no exception. It's an interesting choice to tell the story of the Japanese internment through the eyes of a white minister's daughter. Piper does get close to the internees as her father ministers to them and they move to a town where one of the camps is located, so Piper experiences it in a way. Piper and her father also experience their own share of prejudice - people won't rent to them since they are helping the Japanese Americans. All in all, just fine, and it helped end the listening slump I was on. ;)
review 2: I thought that this book was vary well written. Also I thought that it was sad because when it said that it took all the Japaneses people to a camp to live in during the war I thought that
... more was wrong because they had done nothing wrong when they were living in the U.S. Overall this book was a well written book with great details and the dairy entries were vary well placed as far as the story gos. When I was reading this book I was at school and when I was reading it many times I would have to put the book down to do my school work. Most of the time I thought of how the sad the people must have been vary sad but the book once gain was vary good. less

Excellent book. Only flaw is that they do not say in the epilogue what happened to Piper's sister.
